Onam is a major annual and famous festival in India. It is celebrated in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It is a harvest festival that marks the homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali, who is believed to visit Kerala during the festival to see his people.
Onam is celebrated over a period of 10 days in the Malayalam month of Chingam (August-September).
